12:30 pm - Registration and sandwich lunch
1:00pm – 1:15pm - Introduction and Welcome by Dave Douse, Poly Expert
1:15pm – 1:45pm:
“Raw Material Innovation” Inspiring Film Innovations with Vistamaxx PBE, Vistamaxx propylene-based elastomers, produced by ExxonMobil Chemical, are delivering new capabilities and opportunities for a wide range of flexible film and lamination applications. Vistamaxx offers a unique combination of sealability, adhesion, elasticity and toughness to provide a new level of performance potential available today in a polyolefin. Speaker: Brent Johnson, Market Development Manager, Americas – Vistamaxx in Film, ExxonMobil Chemical
1:45pm – 2:30pm:
"The Sustainability Benefits of Plastic Packaging Across the Life Cycle” Highlights the valuable role of plastic packaging in the ‘use’ phase of the life cycle, as well as raises awareness of the end-of-life challenges facing the industry today. The presentation will also address how increasing landfill diversion rates through energy recovery, complementary with recycling, can help to address these issues. Key findings from global experts and studies will be shared. Speaker: Jon Pyper, Associate Director, Sustainability, The Dow Chemical Company
2:30pm – 2:45pm Break
2:45pm – 3:55pm:
Innovations in Technology”,Improving Blown Film Production with Triple Air Rings, Speaker: Jim Stobie, Macro Engineering & Technology Limited This presentation will focus on triple lip air ring technology thatcan be used to increase production output with better film properties for blown film retrofits. A practical approach to the expected benefits is provided along with comparison to dual lip and binary (stacked) air ring systems
New Technology forExhaust of Air/Volatiles, Air Borne Contamination in the Blown Film Process This presentation will discuss theeffects of air borne contamination in a plant environment and discuss how the newly patented Saturn Evacuation System has successfully removed many of these volatiles from the plant atmosphere improving safety and productivity. Speaker: Benjamin Prinsen, Future Design
Applications of Machine Direction Orientation, Speaker: David Beddus, Windmoeller & Hoelscher Corp.
