CPIA Annual General Meeting

Thu, Jun 03, 2010 - Thu, Jun 03, 2010

CPIA is hosting its Annual General Meeting and Awards Ceremony on June 3, 2010 at the Toronto Congress Center

One of the issues to be put before the meeting is the slate of Directors nominated for 2010/2011. Click here for the proposed slate of Directors. As you will see, the slate of Directors is representative of the breadth of our industry.  Moreover, there is a good balance of experience and fresh leadership proposed for the upcoming year.

CPIA’s audited 2009 financial statement will be posted in the member section of the association’s web site for your review shortly.  As you will see, the association generated a surplus in 2009, in sharp contrast to the deficits recorded in recent years. The surplus was achieved through significant overhead cost reduction, membership expansion and monetization of non-core assets.

With the association’s financial health restored, we began important work to improve the health of the Canadian plastics industry in 2009. We will review this work with you during the annual meeting, as well as outline initiatives currently underway to help the industry reach its full potential.  We plan to discuss a number of important accomplishments and undertakings at the meeting.

After the meeting, we will host our 2010 Industry Gathering and Awards Ceremony over lunch.  This year, we are fortunate to have Warren Jestin, Chief Economist for Scotia Capital as our Keynote Speaker. Warren is a well respected economist and a tremendously engaging speaker. We will also celebrate the contributions of individuals and companies to the industry in the areas of leadership, sustainability and innovation at the industry gathering.  Finally, we will have a number of program-related guest speakers. All speakers will be announced within the next week. Click here for registration form for this important event.

We look forward to seeing you at the meeting.  If you are unable to attend, please ensure that you sign and return your proxy form.
