Production Engineer - CCC Plastics, Mississauga, ON

Business:         Manufactured Plastics

Location:         Colborne, Ontario

Reports to:     Director, Operations – CCC Plastics

We are currently seeking a Production Engineer to oversee all aspects of the Manufactured Plastics production process to ensure a high level of quality in all operations and finished products, and to optimize process conditions.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Review manufactured products to ensure optimum formulation, throughput, and quality
  • Identify all products capable of utilizing gravimetric feeders to minimize handling and increase throughput
  • Reduce components of compounds and master batches where possible to minimize pre-blending and SKU’s
  • Provide Production Department with set conditions for new products prior to releasing to operators
  • Maintain process set conditions and update manuals on a regular basis to ensure only current parameters are used
  • Ensure production department compliance with ISO 2015 Standards
  • Prepare SWOT analysis for Production Department and update quarterly
  • Maintain CPM and identify trends, positive or negative. Identify potential corrective action as required.
  • Create team and organize process trials and report findings and recommendations to Director, Operations
  • Work with maintenance department and operations to optimize extruder configurations by product group
  • Recommend equipment additions or upgrades to improve quality and/or throughput
  • Offer technical support to customers to attain new business through trials and resolve process issues with CCC product
  • Oversee Health and Safety requirements for the facility
  • Occasional travel to customer facilities to review complaints and offer solutions
  • Occasional travel to trade shows, seminars and to equipment/materials vendors

Background Required:

  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering; CRSP Certification preferred
  • 5+ years of experience formulating and compounding polyolefin based compounds or master batches
  • Extensive knowledge of the configuration and operation of co-rotating twin screw extruders and other auxiliary equipment (e.g. feed systems and pelletizers)
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in a production environment; experience in a chemical distribution or plastics manufacturing environment would be preferred
  • 3+ years of experience working with engineering and quality systems; previous ISO management experience would be preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of WHMIS and effective working knowledge of regulatory agencies
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be organized and have strong time and priority management skills
  • Customer service oriented
  • Team player

Technical Specialist / Market Development Representative - CCC Plastics, Mississauga, ON

We are currently seeking a Technical Specialist / Market Development Representative to support the sales and marketing teams in helping to create new business.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Carrying out joint calls with direct sellers across Canada. These calls should be technical in nature with a design to either promote CCC Plastic products/enhance value or troubleshoot issues. Both Distribution and manufactured product lines are an equal focus.
  • Making sales calls in the assigned territory as required to maintain and increase business at those accounts. There will be a based load of accounts but the territory is primarily a business development role with a focus geographically on South-western Ontario and the Northeastern USA.
  • Conducting plant trials at customer locations as required in order to introduce new CCC Plastics products or troubleshoot existing products.
  • Preparing and conducting technical training sessions for key contacts at accounts and or in the field with our regular sales force.
  • Collaborating with various internal departments (customer service, inventory, lab, logistics) to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Meeting with vendors (MB and Commodity) to gain a working technical knowledge of their product lines

Background Required:

  •  2-3 years in a technical role in the plastics industry involving some combination of direct processing or technical service (injection or blown film). 5+ years of experience and demonstrated career progression in technical service and with market development responsibilities in the plastics industry would be preferred.
  • Post-secondary education in a science related field such as chemistry or polymers • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Solid PC/Microsoft skills

Industrial Sales Trainee - Bamberger Polymers Canada Corp.

Your training period at Bamberger will last from 6-12 months at the Canadian headquarters in Mississauga, Ontario. During this time period you will get an education on the industry that we work in. One day you may be working in customer service providing sales support to the current sales staff, while another may find you out on the road traveling with sales people in the local area. We find this method works best in getting a hands on experience at what Bamberger is about and what you can expect when out in your own sales territory.
